On this page we would like to give you some information about how to reach Alghero in Sardinia (Italy). Since there are still several months left before the conference, variations in times and numbers of flights can occur.

 

How to reach Alghero in Sardinia (Italy)

The airport closest to Alghero is Alghero Fertilia

You can reach Alghero airport with Ryanair from Pisa, Bologna, Milano-Bergamo, London Stansted, Eindhoven, Bruxelles Charleroi, Frankfurt Hahn, Memmingen, and Bratislava; with Alitalia from Milano Linate and Roma Fiumicino; from Milano Malpensa with EasyJet; with Blueair from Lisbon and Turin; and with other airlines from various airports in Europe as you can see in the following links.

At the airport you can find cars for rent and taxis. Buses to Alghero are frequent and coordinate with flight arrivals.

 

Cagliari Elmas Airport

Once you arrive in Cagliari Elmas airport, proceed to the "Elmas Aeroporto" railway station and take a train to Sassari.

From Sassari there are buses (and trains) to Alghero. We can organize some help for people arriving in Sassari (i. e. car transfer).

 

Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport

When you arrive in Olbia airport, proceed to the train or bus station and onwards to Sassari. From Sassari there are buses (and trains) to Alghero. We can organize some help for people arriving in Sassari.

Sardinia by car

Sardinia is an island. If you prefer to come by car, you must take a ferry. Porto Torres, in northern Sardinia, is the harbour closest to Alghero.

You can embark for Porto Torres in Genova (Tirrenia navigazione, Grandi Navi Veloci, Moby Lines), Civitavecchia (Grimaldi Lines), Barcelona (Grimaldi Lines), Toulon (Corsica Sardinia Ferries) and Marseille (La Meridionale).

Other harbors in Sardinia are: Olbia and Golfo Aranci on the northeastern coast, and Cagliari in the south.

You can reach Olbia from Civitavecchia (Grimaldi Lines, Moby Lines, Tirrenia navigazione), Livorno (Grimaldi Lines, Moby Lines), Genova (Tirrenia navigazione, Moby Lines) and Piombino (Moby Lines).

For Golfo Aranci you can embark with Corsica Sardinia Ferries from Livorno and Nice and you can reach Cagliari from Civitavecchia (Tirrenia navigazione, Moby Lines), Napoli (Tirrenia navigazione, Moby Lines) and Palermo (Tirrenia navigazione).
